Rosapetra SPA Resort

We have been to quite a bit of SLH. This is the only one that we are truly disappointed. First of all the room we booked was a suite and it turned out too be very small room on the top floor with a very small window blocked partually by the roof. The whole hotel has no AC so for the whole stay we have to open the window and use a fan to provide enough circulation and cold air to keep the room cool. It is awkward because now you cannot close the bind and your neighbor can see the room from their balcony. The breakfast selection was small compared to the other hotel Alder Spa Resort we stayed nearby. The waitor, Nicolas was new but very absent minded. For two breakfasts we stay (one bay we had a box breakfast) he managed to forgot, missed our breakfast and coffee orders. Just cannot imagine a hotel you pay USD500-600 per night can provide these poor service, especially a member of SLH! Hope that you can avoid this hotel next time you are in Dolomites. Another hotel we stayed for one night and it was surprisingly good was Kinder Cycling hotel. Even though it is a little noisy nut the facility, restaurant, and the building was tastefully designed. Food at this hotel was very good!

This place impressed us from the start. We were greeted in the parking lot by name as soon as we pulled in. We were assisted with our luggage and made to feel welcomed right away. A quick tour of the hotel and spa area was provided before taking us to our room. All of the facilities were in great condition and everyone who worked there made us feel right at home. One surprising thing was that almost anyone we encountered that worked at the hotel called us by name, a nice personalized touch. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night and were impressed by the service and quality of food. The spa facilities are amazing and give you a lot of options to choose from throughout the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Rosapetra is a wonderful hotel, BUT they only have one restaurant and they do prioritize outsiders VS who is staying at the hotel. In short: you have to book a table 72 hours in advance to be able to eat at the only restaurant / only option inside the hotel ... as the hotel is not in the city, not having the flexibility to just stay in and eat when you are tired after a full day of skiing is far from what one expects from a 5 star hotel...

Lovely staff, from reception to the spa. They were all very helpful and nice. Modern beautiful design. But a big warning that they did not tell me in the confirmation email or upon check-in is that children are only allowed in the beautiful spa from 9 AM to 2 PM. I completely understand, but it is difficult not knowing beforehand as we could not plan or make another choice as we are traveling with five children. The cancellation policy is also more strict than other places with no changes allowed less than 30 days without some penalty. Also, I did not realize in almost all of this area the hotel rooms do not have air-conditioning. We did have to ask for a fan, I wish they would close the shades during the day before our arrival to keep the room cooler and have screens on the windows as leaving the windows open, just allows the wasps, bees, mosquitoes and flies to come in. We came first week of July and it was warm, very nice to enjoy the property. We did not receive any massage treatments so can’t comment on that aspect.

Stay away from this hotel. The staff is incredibly rude, specially the office manager. We booked spa treatments for one of the days we were staying. I was told to book the time early and the masseuse would discuss with me the kind of massage I wanted prior to the start. They assigned someone who didn’t speak and word of English and then proceeded to give me a massage in an inappropriate way where I had to stop within the first 10 minutes and ask her to bring someone in that spoke English. My husband and I then went to privately speak to the office manager and she said it’s some “special technique” they use where they massage parts of your body you would never expect a professional spa would do. She was very argumentative and showed little empathy to our situation. The rest of our stay was really uncomfortable since the staff stopped being responsive to any of our requests. We couldn’t wait to end our stay. Needless to say we will never book this hotel again and recommend everyone stays away.
